Red heads

I saw a cool female pose that I felt I had to try and draw and I did. It was just quick draw, around 30 minutes all up. Was just trying to get some color down because I need to practice.

Comic Test

I was playing around with some styles and practicing strip panel layout what not and this idea came into my head. I actually came up with a heap of ideas for a full story arc and wrote about the first 10 pages.

You never know when inspiration will hit...

I might play around with this comic concept and just try a heap of differnt art styles and see how it plays out.

Female Face Study

Just a smallfacial study. I might try do some Linda Bergkvist studies later I think, she always did such realistic and beautiful pieces and she has some great tutorials. Unfortunatley her site doesn't seem to be up anymore but luckily I saved them all to my harddrive.

Tutorial Blog

Ok I’ve been thinking and I’ve decided to do something like Idrawgirls.com where each post is a tutorial for a piece he did. There are a few things I want to change but ultimately it’ll be the same, other then it won’t be about drawing girls and that my style is very different to what Xia Taptara uses.

Now the reason I want to do this is in no way for your benefit. The reason I want to do this is so I can look at and analyse how I produce my drawings so that I can get better and for, if they want to, other people to critique them.

I’m hoping to start working on my first piece soon and in the beginning I want to do at least 1 post a week.

Some Fantasy Chick

I've been looking at some of dean yeagles stuff lateley and I wanted to try something in a similar style...

needless to say I failed pretty hard. I just didn't feel like putting the time in. Anyway naked sword chicks are always fun no matter how badly drawn they are.

A Boring Update

Sigh...

Just a little update folks. I'm working on some character designs for a comic, so there won't be many posts until I'm ready to share something.

I'm a prodominantly digital person so you can look forward to the comic roughs being in pencil. I love seeing the pencils for comics pages and even though I suck at traditional drawing I see this as a good oportunity to further my skills.

Anyway that's all I really have to say for now.

Hopefully I'll post something soon. I see just writing this post as a positive step forward to not ditching this blog. Smiley face.

Lips

Lips are something I've always kind of avoided trying to learn, or at least neglected anyway. So I sat down today and read some tutorials and decided I'm going to try and get better at drawing them because I always fail at them.

I spent most of my time reading tonight so I didn't have time to draw many but I'll keep practicing them a bit more.

On another note I want to start trying to do some concept art for my comic sooner or later. Slowly settling on a story. I'll get somewhere eventually.
